# About Nyrut

> Invoicing for freelancers and small businesses, built by a freelancer.

## Who's behind it

Nyrut is made by Hayder, a software engineer and self-employed freelancer in Spain. He built it for himself, to stop reaching the tax deadline with no idea what he'd owe, receipts stuffed in a folder and his accountant asking for the invoice that was missing. He used it that way for a long time, his dad's shop invoices included; a friend asked to try it and has been using it for months. So he polished it and opened it to everyone. The whole story is in the letter on the home page, and if you'd like to tell him yours, write to him from Contact.

## What it does, and what it doesn't

It makes invoices, quotes and credit notes; keeps expenses with their tax and reads receipts with AI; and estimates what you'll owe each quarter: Spain's 303 and 130 forms, VAT in Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, and the self-employment tax for Form 1040-ES in the United States. It doesn't file taxes or replace an accountant. Estimating isn't filing, and the app says so wherever it shows a number.

## How it's built

It's a web app: it runs in the browser, phones included, and there's a command-line client too (npm install -g nyrut). Your data lives in the European Union, in Ireland, isolated per workspace. Payments go through Stripe, email through Resend and receipt reading through Anthropic, each with only what it needs for its part.

## How we work

One plan, VAT included: €8 a month, €80 a year or €2 a day, after ten free days with no card. No number on this site that hasn't been checked against the code. And your data is yours: take the full copy whenever you want, and delete it whenever you want.
